If will call this Sony Tablet S is “Entertainment Tablet” I believe may be correct.  This is definitely one of the better Android tablets out there but there is still room for a lot of improvement, both with the hardware and the software. I have access to multiple tablets, including an iPad 2, and so naturally I compare and contrast the Sony with those other tablets. Sony is one the few companies to manufacture its own LCD screens and I like their implimentation of their TruBlack technology in this device, finding the colors to be rich, the blacks deep, and the images crisp. However, the screen could be brighter. By choosing to go with a slightly smaller screen, they increased the PPI, making text easier to read and less a strain on the eyes.

I both love and hate the unique wedge shape of the device. It is easier to grip, when naked it does not feel as if it is about to slip out of my hand as other devices do. Flat on a table, the screen is slightly angled towards you as a result of the wedge, making it easier to view and type. However, due to apparent software limitations, you cannot always utilize the wedge shape optimally. While sitting I prefer to use a tablet in landscape mode with it on my lap but the Sony is limited in landscape mode to chisel side down and so the weight of the device presses into your body from the thin edge.  Some of the negatives are significanly weaker wi-fi reception compared to the iPad 2, significantly worse battery drain in standby mode compared to the iPad 2 (I have to turn it off at night because of this whereas I could leave the iPad 2 on), a next-to-useless SD card slot that allows pretty much only the transfer of data and cannot really be used to extend the storage capacity of the device, and the partioning of the onboard flash storage in such a way that I cannot fit as much music on it as I can with any other tablet of like capacity. I do not use the IR remote feature. Apple vs. Android – If you are new to the tablet and smart phone world and are not very tech savvy, you may want to look into Apple first. However, if you like customization, this tablet is very easy to use and I highly recommend it.

The Fast and the Furious 5 Review

Vin Diesel, Paul Walker and Jordana Brewster team up again for some more heart pounding adrenaline action. ”The Fast and the Furious” to be the best in the series.  Paul Walker and Vin Diesel more with Dwayne Johnson “The Rock – Supb from WWE Star! Vin Diesel and crew really out did themselves with this one and one can only imagine what part 6 will be like. Yes the action is unrealistic and would never ever happen in real life without them dying but that’s the fun of these movies. You see stuff you wouldn’t normally see in real life like two guys driving a car off a cliff into the water. Or someone dragging a safe full of money down the freeway knocking over cars in the process. Or shootouts over roof tops in Rio. Besides the action in this movie I like the characters in this one or character, The Rock. They finally introduce someone how can take on Vin Diesel and make it believable. When Rock is off camara you want him back and when he’s back he is on point. Rock should get his own spinoff or something after this and it’s nice to see him back in a action movie. Rock and Vin Diesel go at it in their fight scene which I hope there is more of in part 6. The other characters are from the previous movies like Ludacris, Tyrese & others. They are brought back to help Paul Walker and Vin Diesel pull off a heist against a man who tried to have them killed in the beginning. It’s nice to see the characters from 2 Fast reunited and even those from Tokyo Drift. There isn’t much street racing and I think that was a good choice. I think that it was a good ideal for them to drop the whole street race angle because it was getting played out and refresh the franchise with the whole heist job thing. Although they should have started it with Fast and Furious because that was sort of a letdown. Talk about “transforming.” Michael Bay tested the patience of even the most devoted Transformers fan with the second installment of the franchise, Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, but the hyperactive director bounces back in energetic form with number three, Transformers: Dark of the Moon. From the long opening sequence (a zany alternate-history reading of the NASA moon program, complete with cameos by John F. Kennedy and Richard Nixon) through the predictably extended action climax, Bay is actually on his best behavior. Sure, his taste is as vulgar as ever (is introducing your leading lady via a lingering butt shot part of the director’s personal signature?), but the story line is streamlined and the action is coherent: the constant chop-chop of the fighting sequences in Revenge is gone, replaced by a long-take approach that actually shows us who’s fighting who. Plus, it’s hard to resist a tilting skyscraper that allows the protagonists to slide down its glassy exterior. I know, right?

Transformers: Dark of the Moon on Review

Awesome movie. Transformers:DOTM is my favorite out of the trilogy. I don’t own a blu ray player and am in no rush to get one until they drop to maybe 50 bucks, so I’m excited to see these combo packs coming out. I can watch it now, have a blu ray for when I upgrade from a dvd player, and load it onto my laptop. It also really gives people no reason to boot leg movies from torrent sharing. I like having movies on my laptop, not carrying around a bunch of discs. This is a great deal. So what if it doesn’t have extra features? I watch those maybe once if ever. No reason to cry about it though. They just mark up the “deluxe” copies and they really aren’t worth paying for if you don’t watch them. More Reviews Click Here
