If will call this Sony Tablet S is “Entertainment Tablet” I believe may be correct.  This is definitely one of the better Android tablets out there but there is still room for a lot of improvement, both with the hardware and the software. I have access to multiple tablets, including an iPad 2, and so naturally I compare and contrast the Sony with those other tablets. Sony is one the few companies to manufacture its own LCD screens and I like their implimentation of their TruBlack technology in this device, finding the colors to be rich, the blacks deep, and the images crisp. However, the screen could be brighter. By choosing to go with a slightly smaller screen, they increased the PPI, making text easier to read and less a strain on the eyes.

I both love and hate the unique wedge shape of the device. It is easier to grip, when naked it does not feel as if it is about to slip out of my hand as other devices do. Flat on a table, the screen is slightly angled towards you as a result of the wedge, making it easier to view and type. However, due to apparent software limitations, you cannot always utilize the wedge shape optimally. While sitting I prefer to use a tablet in landscape mode with it on my lap but the Sony is limited in landscape mode to chisel side down and so the weight of the device presses into your body from the thin edge.  Some of the negatives are significanly weaker wi-fi reception compared to the iPad 2, significantly worse battery drain in standby mode compared to the iPad 2 (I have to turn it off at night because of this whereas I could leave the iPad 2 on), a next-to-useless SD card slot that allows pretty much only the transfer of data and cannot really be used to extend the storage capacity of the device, and the partioning of the onboard flash storage in such a way that I cannot fit as much music on it as I can with any other tablet of like capacity. I do not use the IR remote feature. Apple vs. Android – If you are new to the tablet and smart phone world and are not very tech savvy, you may want to look into Apple first. However, if you like customization, this tablet is very easy to use and I highly recommend it.

Just received MS Touch Mouse in the mail today, for some minutes and simply the best mouse I have ever had used. Added USB dongle, all automatically installed, it was a bit late, so I decided to restart the computer solved the problem and now it works perfectly. I used the Logitech MX Revolution, which in itself is a great mouse, but you can not compare with the push of a button. Not sure why others are complaining that the only complaint I have is a much smaller and the weight was not sure if a mouse is heavier than the MX Revolution, but when lifting it feels a bit heavier. All touch controls are very intuitive about it, would be the only one who feels a little “back and forth be embarrassing, but that only takes getting used to. It is  comfortable on the hand. I work for hours at a time on the computer and I’m always concerned about Carpal-Tunnel. This mouse is longer than most and slimmer and very very comfortable. It just glides along.
