The camera is fix in hand. It is not more heavy. This is a first my SLR Camera for many yrs, I had use Cool Pix and now I need a more quality picture than before. So, I think must take for one but I’m a beginner for SLR I try to learn more about this. It requires study and practice to master the controls so that one can access the desired functions quickly. I love it and would like to advise for anyone like me, in my opinion if you will be buy D40 Kit, I advise that you should take D90 at least because the function is almost discovery and nearly more to high model in Nikon’ DSLR.
